Cities in the United States that receive the highest amounts of precipitation each year don't necessarily have an exceptionally large number of rainy days.
Among the 40 largest cities, for instance, Cleveland has the most number of days a year with rain or snow. But it ranks 14th in total annual precipitation, with 38.7 inches. Memphis receives the most precipitation each year, but ranks 19th in the number of days with precipitation, at 107 a year.
