Record US Snowfalls For One Year

For each US state, here are the records set for the greatest amount of snow to fall at a weather station over the course of one year. Annual measures of snowfall are tallied from August 1 to July 31.

The most snow to arrive in a single year at one of these National Weather Service (NWS) Cooperative (COOP) Network stations is 81 feet two inches (24.75 metres) that landed at Thompson Pass, Alaska from August 1952 through to July 1953.

The heaviest annual snowfall ever measured in the entire United States and the world is 95 feet (29 metres) that fell between July 1, 1998 and June 30, 1999 at the downhill ski area on Mount Baker, Washington.
