March Sunshine Averages for Australian Cities

The tables here list the average amount of sun that major cities in Australia get during March. There's information on the number of sunny days and, for some cities, hours of sunshine.

All the statistics are long-term historical averages of weather data collected during 1981 to 2010.

Number of Sunny Days

In these tables, the average number of Sunny Days for a city in Australia is the total days a year when the sky is mostly clear. This includes the days that cloud covers up to one-quarter of the sky when measured at 9 am and 3 pm local time.

Partly Sunny Days have cloud covering from 25 percent to 75 percent of the sky on average at those two times. The rest of the days in a year are mainly overcast, with at least three-quarters cloud cover.

Total Days With Sun is a sum of the Sunny plus Partly Sunny days.
